Nelms Farm was founded in 2012 as a way for our family to share the pesticide and chemical-free apples in the orchard behind our home. We welcome guests to come and pick-your-own apples right from our trees. We are proud to offer fruit and vegetables grown the all-natural way. SEASON UPDATES
- 2024 Season -
Welcome to the 2024 season at Nelms Farm LLC. We are a family-oriented Mom and Pop orchard in Golden, Colorado and have been open to the public for picking apples and digging potatoes for 12 years.
This year we had a late frost in May and lost about half our apples but there are still many close to the ground for kids to pick right off the trees. We also have a large inventory of Yukon Gold and Viking Red potatoes for the kids to find and harvest. As we've had for the last several years, we'll have local honey and 10 different kinds of jams and jellies for sale.
If you've visited us in the past, you know that we are a small operation and focus on the fun of getting our hands dirty. If you are looking for large volumes of apples, we recommend you visit one of the larger orchards in Colorado such as Adam's Apple Farm in Ault or Happy Apple Farm in Penrose.
We will open to the public for just one day, Sunday September 1, 2024 of Labor Day weekend.
Our prices have not changed in 5 years, and we do not charge entrance fees like other orchards. Please note that reservations are required for all visitors to the farm. We request one reservation per group of 6 or less. There will be 3 reservation groups available per entry time slot. Reservations will open one month prior on 8/1. If you made reservations but can't make it, please cancel your reservations so others can attend. We ask that you leave your furry friends at home. Please bring your own bags.
